when in doubt put a bow on it
If you ever need to distract me, show me something with a bow or ruffle on it. I can’t begin to tell you how many items I own due to a perfectly placed bow.
I guess my fixation is partly because I find these sweet embellishments oh so polished and feminine, yet not so uptight and tense as their past Victorian reputation.
The best part is , today bows and ruffles are plentiful and bountiful. I popped into Forever 21 and the choices were endless. I left with these three tops, each of course with a ruffle or bow and each for $34 or less.

My reaction when I score a sweet find. Pretty sure that was how I looked at the cash desk at Forever 21.
I got this versatile sweat shirt in an XL. Partly because I wanted a bulky sweat shirt that could comfortably suspend over my skin tight bottoms and partly because it was the last size :)
glitter is always an option...
So same idea here, except instead of a black sweat shirt with bows, it's a black sweat shirt with ruffles. But can we talk about that ring though... My colleagues went to a jewelry cash & carry while at trade show in Las Vegas. I was in back to back appointments and I couldn't join them. I told them if they found a ring in the shape of a bow that glittered to please buy it. So they did and we lived happily ever after.
Told you I get distracted with bows. Now, back to this charming top. The shoulders are black sheer and lined with ruffles. How could I resist? The other night I wore this top with a pair of fitted joggers and runners. for a more casual look-LOVE.
under the influence of lavender
My wardrobe is made up of mainly all things black, grey, white and army green. Although I love me some lavender, I generally prefer the oil. not the colour- until now. This one shoulder sweater was available in black, but....

I am a moody dresser and I find it tough to plan my outfits in advance, especially when I travel. My packing method is “mix & match”- a mix of tops with multiple ways to wear and a few bottoms to match. If I’m lucky that includes a pair of joggers.
Everything here made the cut for the NYC bound suitcase.
